The Evolution of Heritage Protection in Ontario - Andrew Pruss

In 1975, Sandyford Place, in Hamilton was the first building in the province to be designated under the newly created Ontario Heritage Act.
Today, there are approximately 6700 heritage properties in Hamilton, and 10,000 in Toronto and every municipality has a heritage management process.
Heritage properties are everywhere and they can contribute to the success of any development if properly understood and managed.
